Lets face it, the Grand Ole' Party is shakin in its boots. “It would be like the Steelers recruiting Larry Fitzgerald right before the Super Bowl,” Alexander said, referring to the Arizona Cardinals’ star wide receiver. Really?? You'd think they would be happy having an experienced member of their party up for the nod, but no, instead they are acting like he would be a traitor. If Gregg, a Republican from New Hampshire, does get offered the commerce secretary position there is no doubt in my mind he'll take it. Like the politico.com article says, Gregg is up for re-election in 2010 and job security isn't lookin so hot these days. On the other hand, he'll face serious consequences from his peers- and no one enjoys the silent treatment. Maybe he, and his party, may be able to save face, though, if the Democratic governor agrees to appoint a Republican in Gregg's place. Again, I'm going to make a prediction that no such bargain will be made. It's a tough decision, but in the mean time I think the GOP needs to relax a little, be happy for Gregg and realize this may not be such a bad thing.
