Sen. Durbin (D-Ill) must have been reading In Other Wordz, because he has come to the correct conclusion that Burris running in 2010 would be an absolute massacre. I can't imagine where else he would've gotten that idea?
“I told him I would not be supporting him in the 2010 election,” Durbin said.
It's hard not to feel bad for the guy, until I think about how politically corrupt he probably is. But the verdict is not out yet, so I can't fight my tinge of pity about his entire party turning against him, along with probably the entire country. Maybe it's a girl thing: Dianne Feinstein also must have felt that tinge, since she was the only one supporting his immediate seating in early January. Although, I don't think I would've gone that far.
So where will Burris go in 2010 with his finished political career? Hardware store greeter, of course, where all failed politicians go to rest ... amongst a bunch of tools, no less.
