District with an identity crisis

Word is, Washington D.C. might actually get some representation in the coming years. But it won't happen without a fight. True, it really is not constitutionally lawful to give the district a real seat in the House because, well it needs to be a state first, which D.C. is not. But so what, we'll amend the Constitution- that can be done. The funny part is Republicans thinking they are so inconspicuous by hiding under the constitution cloak. In reality, they know D.C. residents will vote in a Democrat, God forbid, so they will fight it tooth and nail.

So here comes the bartering: maybe they'll go for it if Utah gets another seat, which will no doubt be a Republican. The problem is, it's still unconstitutional! I can't imagine Pres. Obama signing a bill which is clearly unconstitutional, unless its a bill to amend. Sadly, it will probably just open the old can of worms no one outside the Beltway really wants to deal with- unless Alabama gets an extra seat, too!
