The Crist Fix

With Florida Senator Mel Martinez announcing resignment for the 2010 term, Republican's are probably crossing their fingers for Gov. Charlie Crist to step up to the plate and run for the office. Despite the not-so-distant controversy regarding Crist's sexuality, his popularity is soaring in the Sunshine State. I don't think he would dare put any word of consideration and then go back on it - he would get eaten alive by his comrades. He's just floating the balloon in cloudy skies to check out public opinion, which obviously is going to be favorable (if anyone doesnt want him going to the Senate it's because they don't want to lose the governor that they apparently love), and then chances are he will announce his running. "Freeze" is right; if he really will wait until the end of the Florida legislative session, all the rest of us will have to wait until May for the announcement. My official prediction? Crist's eyes are on Washington; I think he's secretly anxious for the opportunity for some national accreditation.
