No running mate required
Here he goes again, and this time with two fund raising outlets - the tried and (maybe not so) true "Friends of McCain," campaign committee, and a new Political Action Committee called "Country First," (deja vu anyone?) designed to raise money for all "like-minded Republican candidates." Makes me wonder if Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins are left off that list considering their recent divergence from the Republican vote on the ESP.
I regress.
So did McCain attribute his recent loss of the presidential election to the fact that Obama raised substantially more money on the campaign trail? Well, what did he expect? I can't help but think that when you represent the party of fiscal conservatives that your constituents and supporters will also be, you guessed it, fiscally conservative. And with so much controversy surrounding these so-called leadership PAC's, you'd think our favorite maverick would steer clear. Unless, of course, he's attributing his recent loss to lack of funding, so a PAC would serve as the obvious fix. Why the controversy? Some think the leadership PAC's are a way of getting around caps in donations by allowing people to donate first to the specific politician, then to his PAC, which presumably goes all into one big pot, but obviously McCain will get his cut.
